Revealed! The 4 "Traffic Secrets" that could DOUBLE or even TREBLE the amount of money you make from any website! | Author: Charlie Wright, author of 'The Inbox Tycoon'

It's one of the greatest problems with making money online: how on earth do you get people to visit your site and see what you're selling? You could have a beautifully designed website, a great service or product, and the best money offer in the world. But if you can't get people to visit your site, you won't get customers. And therefore you make any money. It's a simple fact. What you need to do is generate some 'traffic'. This is a term internet marketers use for the flow of viewers passing through your website. And it's crucial. Most online businesses will, at some point, require you to generate traffic. This means you have to find ways to lure visitors to your site so you can sell them a product or service. For instance, I need to generate constant traffic to http://www.bizoppjungle.com so that I can build up readership for my e-letters.

So here's what you need to do...

GET NOTICED BY SEARCH ENGINES

Most people find websites by searching on Google or Yahoo. If they're interested in buying some collectable stamps, for instance, they will look through a search engine for sites that sell them. They'll see a list of websites that match their search down the middle, and they'll see a list of adverts for related products down the right. If you can get onto the search engine, you're winning. One of the best ways to get picked is to upload new content onto your site as often as possible, including, new articles, news, reviews, comments or blog entries. This will get you noticed and move you up the rankings of the search engines. I can do this easily, because I run a review service and write my own articles every week. But not to worry, you don't need to put pen to paper yourself. Instead go to an online article directory. These have pre- written articles you can use. Simply pick articles that relate to your subject area and paste 'em onto your site.

Here are 6 to try:

All of this is free, takes no effort and no writing skill.

And it's powerful, too. The more new, good quality content on your site, the more attractive it becomes... both to Google and to your customers. So get cutting and pasting.

You can also try and delve into the murky world of 'Search Engine Optimisation'.

THE POWER OF SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMISATION

Search Engine Optimisation is where you try and get your site to the top of a search. Say an overweight person typed 'weight loss', into Google and YOUR website came up on the first page of results. That would be an example of where you'd "optimised" your website. To understand the power of this, think of how many people search for 'weight loss' every day. Now imagine if nearly all of those people passed through your site, and that your site sold weight loss supplement.

Kerr-ching!

Trouble is, search engine optimisation (or 'SEO') is a bit of an art form. The rules change all the time. What's good technique one day, may become old hat a few months later. It's extremely difficult to get right and stay on top. So what's the answer?

My suggestion is that you sign up to a free email service about SEO so you can keep abreast of things on a weekly basis.

USE EMAILS TO CATCH CUSTOMERS

Many website entrepreneurs are missing a trick when it comes to generating traffic. People come to their website, look around and leave, never to come back. So make sure you offer a FREE email service on your website to catch names. You can then send your customers a short email every week, telling them of new products and exciting offers. By forming a relationship with your customers, you will increase repeat business, and get people coming back to your website for more. These repeat customers are the most valuable customers of all. Don't worry if you're not a writer. Keep the email short, chatty, personal and informal. Just like an email you'd write to a friend! Make sure there are links to take them to the website, or pages of the website with special offers and new products. Now watch your traffic double!

And a final tip...

BOOST YOUR TRAFFIC WITH A GIFT

A good way to generate traffic is to source a free ebook or report, related to the subject of your website. Put it on your website, and make sure people have to put their email addresses down to get it. Now advertise this free product on related websites, magazines, and classified sections of newspapers. People who want the book will have to come to your website to get their hands on it. You can then catch their email address or sell them your wares. You can write the book or report yourself, get someone else to do it, commission a professional writer... OR...even easier...

Go to a public domain website like www.gutenburg.org

There are hundreds of out-of-copyright books there that you can steal legally. Take the book, repackage it in any way you like and stick it on your site. People live free stuff, and they'll come to your website just to get it.
